The starting rate for this position is:
$34.46/hr for individuals with less than 5 years of experience
$39.66/hr for individuals with 5 or more years of experience.
Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as education and relevant work experience as determined by the company.

What You Will Do
The Production Technicians are responsible for the safe and efficient operations of each chemical manufacturing unit at the Luling Plant. The role will be responsible for the monitoring and control of the process from a control room environment as well as be responsible for field operations and monitoring within the process structure.
Key Working Relations
The Production Technician will work within production plants on the Luling site and report to the Plant Manager of the assigned plant. They will work as peers with other production technician and receive technical leadership from Production, Electrical, and Mechanical engineers assigned to their plant. This role will not have direct reports.
Operations and Maintenance Expertise
The ideal candidate for this role would have the experience in a wide range of operational and maintenance skills to learn and build from, including but not limited to:
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving – Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process control issues affecting production.
Basic Equipment Maintenance – Execute preventative maintenance (PM) tasks; including lubrication, filter changes, and component inspections.
Instrumentation & Controls Awareness – Familiarity with sensors, transmitters, flow meters, and pressure gauges to assist in identifying anomalies.
DCS &Automation System Familiarity – Understanding of Delta-V DCS operations, including alarms, setpoints, and automation logic troubleshooting.
Pumps & Valves – Knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, automated control valves, and pressure relief systems to detect performance issues.
Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems – Basic understanding of actuators, air compressors, regulators, and solenoid valves to assist in equipment diagnostics.
Electrical Awareness – Ability to recognize motor performance issues, circuit breaker trips, and basic electrical faults while following LOTO procedures.
CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System or similar) Usage – Experience in logging equipment malfunctions, tracking work orders, and documenting maintenance support.
Alignment & Calibration – Ability to assist with aligning rotating equipment and verifying instrument calibration for accurate process control.
Safety & Compliance – Strict adherence to OSHA, PSM, and site-specific maintenance safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a complete understanding of all operating procedures, compliance requirements (OSHA, DOT, ISO, etc), plant quality and safety procedures and perform job duties in accordance;
Monitor and control the unit operations via DSC systems;
Utilize IP21 and other technologies to monitor and troubleshoot process and equipment operations;
Maintain complete communication documents including production log sheets and downtime records;
Provide information regarding operations and issues to appropriate resources including engineers and management;
Complete notifications of equipment malfunctions;
Monitor the equipment and operations in the field;
Take samples for quality control and regulatory purposes;
Make necessary process adjustments based on data input;
Maintain good housekeeping;
Perform container loading and unloading tasks as necessary;
Participate in optimization efforts;
Maintain compliance with all training needs;
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent certificate;
Ability to routinely lift & transport heavy objects (up to 50lbs), climb, work in both indoor and outdoor environments, work in high places and confined spaces with or without reasonable accommodation;
Ability to pass ACT WorkKeys Applied Technology assessment prior to interviewing for the role;
Ability to continuously learn and adapt to change and function in a self-directed team environment;
Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
PTEC degree (including May 2025 graduates) with 1 year of relevant experience or a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience that could include Chemical and/or Petrochemical manufacturing plant operations and/or vocational/industrial trade and/or transferable Military experience;
Experience with electrical and instrumentation;
Experience with mechanical maintenance;
Emergency Response and/or Fire Fighting experience and/or certification.
