Full Time roles are eligible for the above, plus:

Okemo is very TEAM oriented, we work together to provide the best possible skiing experience for our guests. Safety is our number one priority. Okemo is known for our snowmaking and grooming capabilities. Our snowmaking system can pump 9000 gallons of water per minute during max production.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to the following):

  • Responsible for all aspects of the snowmaking operation, from training staff on safety, maintenance of equipment, coordinating service of compressors and pumps, to coordinating the actual on hill snowmaking operation

  • Responsible for job performance evaluation, and scheduling of staff

  • Works closely with Sr. Director of Mountain Operations, Snowmaking Manager, Lift Maint. Parks, Trail Crew, Patrol, and Grooming teams on terrain to be covered and type of snow to be made, and should be on the job during part of both shifts

  • Other tasks include operating various pieces of grooming equipment and snow removal equipment

  • Off-season duties include overseeing a crew of summer operators to complete any capital projects or expansion needed

  • Performs management duties i.e. planning and directing staff, has particular input to the hiring, promoting or terminating staff on a regular basis

Skills (to include the following):

  • Strong leadership and supervisory qualities and ability to motivate crew

  • Experienced in all aspects of the operation of snowmaking, and able to perform duties of Snowmaker

  • Capable of operating a snowmobile, all terrain vehicle and motor vehicle

  • Strong judgment skills for personal safety and working with staff in a fast paced environment

  • Strong communication skills needed to coordinate with staff

  • Ability to perform all tasks of a snowmaker when needed

  • Ability to communicate via radio and phone systems

Physical Demands (to include, but not limited to the following):

  • Physical fitness is required, with ability to perform strenuous tasks in adverse weather conditions quickly and effectively

  • Ability to lift, reach overhead, stand, sit, bend, climb, walk on all terrain, work in varied weather conditions, ride snowmobile, operate hand and power tools as well as maneuver snow guns

  • Heavy lifting (75 pounds)

Certifications/Diplomas/Prerequisites:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Previous experience in the field of snowmaking

  • Valid driver’s license

The expected pay range is $52,000 - $62,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
