Position Description:
Performs Academic Advising, educational, professional, or other advanced Academic Advising or training at the individual or group level as appropriate. Responsibilities may include assisting in the analysis of special and/or complex problems. May supervise Academic Advisors or other employees. Performance is based on individual advising effectiveness and overall program results obtained. Work is performed under standard supervision in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Major/Essential Functions:
Performing educational academic advising, especially focusing on an assigned student population.
Communicating with student populations via appropriate media as assigned, including group presentations, one-to-one appointments, and written documentation.
Maintaining thorough and accurate records of every student advising interaction using a variety of electronic record-keeping tools including but not limited to Raider Success Hub.
Assessing professional needs and challenges through assigned training and professional development.
Executing statistical analysis with minimal oversight.
Participating in events and activities designed to improve retention, persistence, and recruitment.
Contributing to the ongoing quality improvement of departmental methods, communications, tools, and strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree completed or in progress
At least one year of related experience, especially prior experience in academic advising, university orientation, and/or student success.
Experience working in office setting.
Advanced computer skills and experience, especially statistical analysis, social media, and web content production/maintenance/design.
