UL, LLC Facilities Technician in Lowell, Arkansas

Under general supervision, the Facilities Technician performs fabrication, installation, maintenance, and major repairs between our Bentonville, AR & Lowell, AR laboratories. They maintain the operation of all building equipment, accessories, and components.

Job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for various duties in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), building automation, mechanical, chemical, electrical disciplines, and pollution control.

  • Responsible for all facility-related preventative maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, and emergency equipment. Assist Systems and Calibration Technician in preventative maintenance and repair of testing equipment.

  • Supervises building maintenance and security in the absence of management.

  • Acts as Facilities contact for all contractor projects, scheduling, project coordination, certificates of insurance, and safety clearance protocol.

  • Assists in security badging and access process and procedure for two facilities operating under two different badging software systems.

  • Responsible for all emergency systems inspections including fire systems, emergency backflow systems, emergency eyewash, emergency showers, emergency lighting, and backup generators.

  • Assists with the management of facility environmental conditions via advanced building management systems.

  • Manages recycling program for one facility, and assist with another including recycling transport, distribution, and scheduling of recycling vendor for offsite processing.

  • Performs janitorial and groundskeeping duties when required.

  • Moves objects up to 100lb, assisted or unassisted.

  • Occasionally ascends/ descends exterior ladders.

  • Provides effective oral and written communications for successful operations.

  • Follows safety rules and applicable Federal, State, Local regulations and codes.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Facilities and/or maintenance trade in a commercial setting.

  • Ability to safely work autonomously.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to wear proper PPE when required.

  • Ability to work full-time, on-site Monday through Friday, reporting between our Bentonville and Lowell facilities.

  • Ability to travel, on occasion, to other facilities within the UL family of companies when the need arises.
