Senior Commodity Buyer – HR, Benefits, Health Services, Legal and Training

How You'll Create Possibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and manage procurement for key HR and related services, including:

  • Employee benefits : medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, life, and disability

  • Onsite health services : primary care, occupational health, and fitness

  • Talent acquisition : recruiting, onboarding, relocation, and global mobility

  • Retirement plans : administration and audits

  • Payroll, benefits administration, and training services

  • Develop and implement multi-year procurement strategies to foster competition and achieve cost-saving opportunities.

  • Conduct market assessments, lead RFPs, and evaluate supplier risks.

  • Negotiate comprehensive, multi-year contracts to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service-level agreements.

  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Finance teams to align procurement goals with organizational strategy.

  • Monitor supplier performance, lead strategic business reviews, and manage key relationships.

  • Analyze procurement metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes impacting HR and benefits procurement.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, contract development, and management.

  • Demonstrated success in negotiation and contract management.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data for decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% and attend occasional virtual meetings outside typical working hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).

  • Experience with HR and benefits procurement.

  • Background working in a self-insured company, with knowledge of risk management and financial processes.

  • Proven problem-solving and collaboration skills to drive cross-functional initiatives.
