The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost control. This role involves managing staff, optimizing production processes, maintaining equipment and facilities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

• Ensure products are manufactured within quality standards and specifications.

• Plan, organize, and oversee production to meet customer demands and deadlines.

• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency.

2. Leadership and Staff Management

• Recruit, train, and supervise employees, including production supervisors, operators, and maintenance staff.

• Provide clear directions, set performance expectations, and conduct regular evaluations.

• Foster a positive work environment and encourage collaboration among departments.

3. Process Improvement

• Identify areas for process optimization to reduce waste, improve productivity, and enhance overall efficiency.

• Implement lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement initiatives.

4. Budget and Cost Control

• Monitor expenses and implement measures to reduce costs while maintaining production quality, e.g. scrap, overtime, and maintenance expenses.

5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

• Resolve identified safety concerns immediately.

6. Maintenance and Equipment Management

• Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of all machinery and equipment.

• Plan for equipment upgrades and replacements to minimize downtime.

7. Reporting and Communication

• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management regarding production, safety, and financial performance.

• Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics, sales, and procurement, to ensure smooth operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

1 week vac first year after 90 days, med, dental and vision, 401K is available as well, working to get additional info as this is a draft req and still being qualified

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Louisville,KY.
