Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess experience with cherry picking, reach truck, or forklift operations, although training is available. Previous warehouse experience is a plus. Candidates must be willing to train on an order picker (cherry picker) and should not be afraid of heights. Initial duties may include hand picking, packing, or working in the shipping area. Upon completion of training, the role will primarily involve operating a cherry picker to select products for shipping while meeting established picking rates.

Responsibilities

• Operate cherry picker to select products for shipping

• Hand pick and pack products in the shipping area

• Train on order picker (cherry picker)

• Meet established picking and packing goals

• Utilize RF scanning technology

• Work in a warehouse environment

Essential Skills

• Experience with cherry picking, reach truck, or forklift (preferred)

• Warehouse experience

• Proficiency with RF scanning

• No fear of heights

• High school diploma or GED

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to meet picking rates

• Willingness to work overtime if needed

Work Environment

The facility is a parts distribution center for a manufacturer of large cleaning/sweeping machines, equipment, and parts. The environment is not climate-controlled; it can be hot in the summer and cool in the winter. If the temperature exceeds 97 degrees, extra breaks, water, and popsicles are provided. Shorts and tank tops are acceptable attire. The work pace is moderate but goals must be met. Overtime may be required. First shift start times are 7am, 8am, and 10am. Second shift starts at 1:30 PM. Break schedules are as follows: 7am start - 9am first break, 11am lunch, 1:30pm second break, 3:30pm end time; 8am start - 10am first break, 12pm lunch, 2:30pm second break, 4:30pm end time; 10am start - 12pm first break, 2pm lunch, 4:30pm second break, 6:30pm end time; 1:30pm start - 3:30pm first break, 5:30pm lunch, 8pm second break, 10pm end time. Trainers wear light blue shirts and leads wear dark blue shirts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, Kentucky.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
