Grade 8 (Salaried)Position Description:An exceptional opportunity awaits to join a growing team and contribute to the modernization of University of Louisville School of Dentistry (ULSD). Supporting faculty and staff in their mission to educate our dental students, the Applications Manager will oversee the operations and personnel of Applications Support. This role involves managing our Electronic Health Record (EHR), several Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) applications, databases, and coordinating with vendors for our Oracle Database Appliance (​ODA). With over 100,000 dental visits annually across various clinics in the county and state, our EHR serves as the cornerstone of our activities in Dental Informatics. Reporting directly to the Director, you will lead a small team with a hands-on approach, playing a significant role in fostering excellence in dental care and education.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensures the smooth operation and maintains maximum uptime of the schools EHR and subsequent applications, such as, but not limited to, Infinitt, MIPACS, Dolphin.Functions as SME for the Electronic Health Record (EHR), gaining and maintaining deep knowledge of all features and limitations, ensuring complete HIPAA compliance.Leads efforts to upgrade the schools EHR and subsequent applications, coordinating with Vendors, faculty and staff as needed.Design and generate query-based reports using development tools, such as Crystal Reports.Working with vendors and technical staff, administer Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases, ensuring storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.Provides technical support, as needed to end users with all queries relating to business applications.Responsible for improving processes and workflows within the applications group. Working alongside Desktop and Server support teams to realize the business needs. Evaluate, implement, or recommend solutions that support the school’s mission.Update, maintain and create documentation, standards, and procedures, based on schools’ best practices for all matters relating to the position and group.Spearhead focus groups for projects relating to digital dentistry, EHR review, new and upcoming technology to help with the school’s mission.Supervises technical staff, participating in hiring, evaluating, training and discipline.Exhibits proficient communication skills within the entire ULSD community, pinpointing and fulfilling the requirements of end users.
