We are seeking a Distribution Engineer to help develop work packages for Make Ready and Street Light projects. You will use customer and industry-accepted design and analysis tools, review and seal work packages for distribution designs of Junior Engineers, and support structural analysis, guying calculations, cable pulling calculations, coordination of protective devices, and calculations of electric demand and fault currents.
Responsibilities
Develop work packages for Make Ready and Street Light projects using customer and industry-accepted design and analysis tools.
Review and seal work packages for distribution designs of Junior Engineers.
Support structural analysis, guying calculations, cable pulling calculations, coordination of protective devices, and calculations of electric demand and fault currents.
Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements.
Assess and develop design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments.
Develop work permits, easements, and ROW applications.
Design mainline vault medium voltage switchgear, network system design, and distribution system protection and coordination.
Work under the supervision of the Engineering Manager to ensure program success for scope, schedule, and budget.
Essential Skills
5+ years of electric distribution design experience.
Knowledge of NESC Standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with distribution design software such as Pole Foreman, SOCKET, O-calc, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1+ year of joint use experience preferred.
Previous experience working with or supporting energy projects through third-party engineering firms.
Work Environment
We offer a collaborative, team-based environment where engineers work in cubicles but are encouraged to collaborate and problem-solve together. You will typically work on multiple projects simultaneously and will need to rely on fellow engineers to ensure designs are completed accurately and on time. We are open to a fully remote candidate for this role. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00
