Our Louisville, KY team specializes in construction materials testing (CMT) for projects including airports, airfield pavements, transportation infrastructure, power generation and transmission, landfill construction, and commercial developments.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Department Manager to lead our team in Louisville, KY. This role involves managing all aspects of construction materials testing, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency while fostering client relationships and mentoring a team of professionals.

Your Impact

• Project Management: Oversee CMT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians to support project success.

• Client Relations: Act as the primary liaison for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring project needs are met.

• Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce strict safety standards in all testing and field operations.

• Resource Allocation: Manage staffing, equipment, and materials to optimize efficiency and project delivery.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with FAA, DOT, ASTM, AASHTO, and WSP USA quality standards.

• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, or a related technical field.

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in construction materials testing, special inspections, and ASTM test methods. (In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of relevant experience is acceptable.)

• Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

• Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Excellent communication and client management skills.

• Licenses: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with FAA, DOT, ASTM, and AASHTO standards for construction materials testing.

• Knowledge of Louisville and regional construction regulations and industry practices. • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure and commercial construction projects.
