University of Louisville Admissions Counselor I in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelors degree in a related filed or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Position Description:The Office of Admissions at the University of Louisville has an opening for an Admissions Counselor I. This position will:Visit high schools, participate in college fairs, advise and counsel prospective students and families.Review and adjudicate undergraduate applications for admissions.Participate in outreach programs designed to expand the base of students interested in UofL.Plan outreach programs for prospective students throughout assigned regions/territories.Participate in the management, recruitment, and awarding processes for scholarship programs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage outreach and recruitment efforts/initiatives for prospective students and families in assigned geographical area, including travel to different areas across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.Advise, counsel and inform prospective students, parents, and others seeking information about UofL.Participate in the management, recruitment and awarding processes for merit based scholarship programs.Serve on rotation of recruiters on call schedule handling incoming calls, walk-in inquiries, and admissions presentations.Participate in on-campus programs and alumni programs designed to introduce prospective students to the campus and other facets of the University.Serve as liaison to high school counselors from assigned high schools and territories.Pursue appropriate training and exhibit professional qualities in performance of all job duties.Assist with review of freshman applications.Investigate and follow up with prospective student leads.Assist and support enrollment management, university retention, and recruitment efforts.Preferred QualificationsMicrosoft OfficeStrong Customer ServicePresentation skillsThe candidate must be based out of the Louisville, KY; Owensboro, KY; or Bowling Green, KY areas. This position will visit high schools, participate in college fairs, and work with prospective students and families; review and evaluate undergraduate applications for admissions; participate in outreach programs designed to expand the base of students interested in UofL; and plan outreach programs for prospective students throughout assigned regions/territories. Travel to and from different areas in Kentucky will be required. This position also participates in outreach and evaluation of the scholarship programs run through the Office of Admissions. Applicants must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills, presentation and public speaking skills are essential, basic technology capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks. It is crucial to be able to work in a fast paced, team environment, with some evening and weekend work responsibilities throughout the year.
