Here’s the scoop - Summary

As a dynamic leader the SRM Director will be accountable to define and achieve topline gross margin and value market share ambition by setting the SRM value growth agenda in close alignment with the Executive Leadership Team, driving development of the competency across the business, and building a high performing SRM team that will scale through time to cover multiple regions. The perimeter is global covering North America, EMEA, and Rapid Growth Markets.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is based in our Edmonton, AB or Broomfield, CO corporate office and works a hybrid schedule between in office and working from a home-based office. Reporting into the SRM Director will be one SRM Analyst, progressively scaling up to a global scope.

What a typical day looks like:

Define SRM strategy & priority initiatives to shape & support broader commercial strategy, and deliver value growth for Champion Petfoods (incl. KPIs & action plans):

• Identify value growth opportunities based on a clear methodology, strong analytics & insights, primarily focusing on promotion strategy, portfolio and pricing.

• Create holistic plans together with Sales & Marketing to capture and sustain long-term value growth.

• Set clear strategic and execution guidelines, across the SRM levers, with Sales and Marketing, to secure perfect execution.

• Drive monthly SRM Councils at Global and Regional levels with the Regional GM + Sales/ Finance/Marketing directors. Track value and steer preparation of acceleration/mitigation plans as required.

Embed SRM and orchestrate initiatives within cross-functional teams, and contribute to all SRM-related business decisions:

• Position SRM teams as a strategic business partner with a clearly defined role in commercial strategy and execution. Partner with Sales, Marketing and Finance to shape plans and strengthen execution.

• Foster a culture of value- and fact-based decision making.

• Challenge cross-functional teams in the realization of SRM activities in their respective accountability field.

• Build the tools in close collaboration with IT.

Create a High performing SRM team:

• Give direction to the team and instill a culture of first-class business partnering.

• Define the bar and development plans to Top quartile SRM practice and delivery.

• Allocate resource against value at stake and prioritized enablers.

• Build in close coordination with HR an SRM talent pipeline and secure SRM as a critical experience in (commerce) career paths.

What are we looking for?

• 10 years of commercial experience including previous team leadership roles.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

• Previous SRM expertise preferred with a deep understanding of SRM levers to design actionable initiatives.

• Ability to drive SRM execution within cross-functional teams. Key stakeholders include: ELT, Sales, Marketing, Supply, NPD, R&D, and Mars SRM global teams.

• Change agent capability.

• Demonstrated Project Management experience.

• Strong business/financial acumen & value-driven mindset.

• Data savvy & outstanding analytical skills,

• Advanced marketing, sales & category understanding.
