As a Compliance Engineer, you will be experienced in Radio Frequency (RF), ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Safety, and Energy Efficiency certification processes. You will have familiarity with North American and Global standards and compliance requirements. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative wireless products to meet high performance bar. You will work closely with internal interdisciplinary teams to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in an open collaborative peer environment.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with HW design team, FW team, product team, and international team by researching and specifying regulatory and industry certification requirements.

You will plan and direct compliance testing of hardware platforms, devices, and accessories.

You will support the design team through product execution, and will ultimately assist them to meet all applicable hardware compliance requirements.

When necessary, you will perform fast-paced, detailed, and results-oriented independent research and literature reviews to yield actionable conclusions to initially ambiguous questions.

You will be responsible for delivering concise and informative compliance updates to management and collaborating with the legal team to navigate complex compliance issues.

You will submit filings to obtain certifications Regulatory approvals will consist of domestic(FCC) and international certifications(ISED/CE/MIC/KCC/NCC and etcs.) and NRTLs, and other regulatory bodies.

You will also work with our manufacturing partners to test and ensure all in-production devices remain compliant with all certifications.

When necessary, you will travel 25% work time.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in RF or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in wireless regulatory compliance, testing, and certifications.

  • 3+ years of experience with wireless technologies including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, GPS, WWAN (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G), and etc.

  • 2+ years of experience in wireless certification and/or homologations for international countries

  • Experience in test setup with signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, call box, semi-anechoic chambers, OTA chamber ,and etc.

  • Program management skills in driving certification labs, effectively prioritizing testing plans and achieving deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on 6GHz WLAN Products

  • Experience obtaining various industry certifications (e.g., BT SIG, WFA, etc.).

  • Experience on safety compliance

  • Experience on environmental compliance, energy efficiency, and sustainability

  • Experience with standards development, industry advocacy groups, and regulatory committees.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
