WSP USA VP Zero-Emission Vehicle Lead in Los Angeles, California

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, National Zero-Emission Fleet Lead out of either our Atlanta, GA, New York, NY, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Dallas, TX, Austin, TX, or Chicago, IL office. This position will report to the SVP, Bus Practice Leader and will be supporting a new offering within the WSP National Bus Team to help manage and inspire change across public and private customers. The successful candidate will be collaborating with some of the industry's best engineers, planners, architects, program managers, and economists to grow a new service that is responsible for managing and creating WSP’s fleet services including (but not limited to): Fleet procurement support, testing and commission, vehicle inspections, vehicle ITS procurement and installation, and general future-proofing solutions such as providing insights into future ADAS (driver-assistance) and ADS (higher levels of automation) solutions. As zero-emission technology continues to advance, WSP recognizes that we need a dedicated vehicle lead to help support our customers during highly technical conversations and further, help build a team that is Future Ready. The successful candidate will come with a deep understanding of the zero-emission vehicle market, a broad range of industry strong relationships, and an understanding of technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that can help strengthen WSP’s zero-emission team.

Your Impact

  • Providing strategic leadership to cross-discipline project teams, supporting WSP's core strategy for developing zero emission solutions to the transportation industry.

  • Supporting development and growth of WSP’s Center for Clean Transportation. This will involve internal and external marketing support, research, and extensive coordination to ensure WSP remains a leader in the zero-emission industry.

  • Help build and recruit a new team that adds to the existing WSP ZE Fleet and Facility group.

  • Anticipating and understanding the market by staying informed with the latest technologies and solutions that contribute towards ZEV operations.

  • Actively participating in business development efforts and resource planning.

  • Proactively managing current and future resource needs and being accountable for the overall quality of ZE fleet deliverables.

  • Being a trusted advisor to clients, demonstrating knowledge and capability to effectively deliver ZE solutions.

  • Lead and grow WSP’s current transit bus procurement and inspections team.

  • Supporting WSP team members, monitoring progress on a consistent basis and remaining available for questions and discussions when required.

  • Monitoring project revenue streams, determining appropriate staffing and resource allocation, clearly communicating project team roles and responsibilities.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • 12+ years’ experience in a transit-related field.

  • Significant amount of time spent with a transit vehicle original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

  • Expertise and experience with zero emissions technologies (charge management systems, charging infrastructure solutions, and general software associated with vehicle and charging systems).

  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities in a logical and orderly manner.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

  • The ability to work in a disciplined manner with little supervision.

  • Individual must have experience with vehicle system design and specifications. In particular, a firm understanding of APC and AVL systems and data management.

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree(s) preferred

  • Transit agency experience in a vehicle-related position

  • PMP certification or ability to quickly earn PMP certification

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $155,000 - $215,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
