TEAM LEAD FOREIGN EXCHANGE

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The FX Sales Team Lead plays a critical role in driving the growth and success of our foreign exchange (FX) sales desk. This leadership role requires exceptional sales expertise, strategic vision, and the ability to build and develop a high-performing team. The Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing a group of FX sales advisors, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture, and ensuring the delivery of customized FX solutions to clients. This role demands strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship capabilities while maintaining deep client relationships and executing sales strategies to achieve business objectives. The Team Lead will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive revenue, optimize team performance, and ensure seamless end-to-end execution of FX solutions.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop a team of FX sales advisors, setting clear performance expectations, providing coaching, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Drive revenue growth by overseeing the execution of FX solutions tailored to clients' unique needs, ensuring a seamless process from identifying opportunities to execution.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by analyzing client foreign currency exposures, proposing risk mitigation strategies, and structuring FX transactions with precision and accountability.

  • Directly manage, develop, and deepen engagement with select client coverage within the portfolio across middle market, commercial banking, and mid corporate clients as well as asset management and/or entertainment firms.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including trading, operations, compliance, and risk, to ensure successful execution of transactions and regulatory adherence.

  • Act as a mentor and coach, ensuring team members develop their expertise in FX markets, pricing strategies, and risk management solutions.

  • Promote a high-performance culture by recognizing top talent, fostering teamwork, and implementing best practices to enhance sales effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and risk management frameworks while maintaining operational excellence.

  • Represent the FX sales team with professionalism, serving as a senior leader and trusted partner to clients and internal stakeholders

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree MBA and/or CFA preferred Or

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Foreign Exchange and/or Capital Markets sales and analysis.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience using financial market-related software systems including the Bloomberg terminal and multi-dealer platforms.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in managing people and/or leading deal teams.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Deep expertise in FX products, pricing, and hedging strategies, including an understanding of credit, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing sales professionals.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking with the ability to drive business growth while optimizing team performance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to articulate complex FX strategies to clients and team members.

  • A results-driven and proactive mindset, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience covering middle market and corporate banking clients as well as more specialized clients like asset management firms and /or entertainment firms.

  • Good understanding of ISDA/CSA, XVA, CVA and FVA.

Compensation

Starting base salary: $141,830 - $263,408 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
