UCLA Health Systems Application Administrator, Patient Access Org in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Patient Access Organization is to provide timely, convenient, and equitable access for all UCLA Health patients and the communities we serve.

UCLA Health operates over 200 outpatient clinics in Southern California, with over 3,000,000 outpatient encounters annually. The Patient Access Organization aims

to scale and expand its services in the coming years. The Systems Applications Administrator plays a crucial role within the Patient Access Organization, reporting directly

to the Performance Effectiveness and IT Applications Advisor. This position involves the management and optimization of systems applications to enhance the overall

efficiency and effectiveness of the access organization users.

As the Systems Applications Administrator, the incumbent brings technical and operational expertise to build and maintain business systems and applications, including but not limited to Salesforce, Qualtrics, CUIC, Calabrio, Tableau, and Epic. The incumbent will support Access Organization data requests and provide decision support for leadership via the execution of complex data pulls and analysis through the development of SQL queries, views, and stored procedures, as well as the development of Tableau dashboards and other BI tools. Additionally, the incumbent will work on various operational improvement projects. This involves meeting with key stakeholders and leadership to gather requirements and translate these requirements into actionable recommendations using both existing and novel reports and analytics.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in system administration and application support.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry best practices.

  • At least 2 years of Epic Cadence experience (certification preferred)

  • Knowledge of SQL sufficient to write optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications, create views, stored procedures

  • Experience with Tableau, MS Power BI, or other enterprise business intelligence visualization software

  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency in MS Excel (with an emphasis on linking, spreadsheet management, data manipulation and analysis)

  • Skill in performing various accounting transactions such as debiting, crediting, reconciling expenses

  • Skill in writing concise, logical and grammatically correct correspondence.

  • Interpersonal skills to communicate diplomatically and effectively with all levels of faculty, staff and non-University entities

  • Skill in performing a variety of tasks independently with minimal direction in a timely matter under conditions of fluctuating workloads, competing requirements, and changing deadlines and priorities.

  • Skill in organizing and maintaining up to date, accurate bookkeeping records on-line and maintaining alpha-numeric files.

  • Skill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions

  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA Regulations, Policies and Procedures

  • Ability to use judgment when dealing with confidential information.

  • Skill in dealing with confidential material with tact and sensitivity

  • Salesforce Administration Certification

  • Epic Cadence Certification

Preferred

  • Familiarity with healthcare information systems.

  • Experience with performance optimization and system enhancements.

  • Knowledge of best practices in IT applications for patient access.
