UCLA Health Staff Research Associate I - Neurology in Los Angeles, California

Description

Major duties of the Staff Research Associate (SRA) will include the acquisition of transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) data from human research subjects. Primary activities include, but are not limited to establishing the sites of tES electrodes for brain stimulation, and preparing and administering tES sessions on human subjects outside and inside of the MRI scanner environment using established protocols. Cleaning and disinfecting tES equipment is also a primary job requirement. Other duties include monitoring supplies, and assisting with data management analysis. Duties will involve interacting with other study staff including the clinical coordinator, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty, both one-on-one and during scheduled meetings to facilitate study progress.

Salary Range: $25.75 - $30.71 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact, communicate, and work as a team member with the academic, research and administrative staff, students, and database and information systems personnel

  • Skills in working independently, ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines and accomplish established goals

  • Knowledge and experience using standard software programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge and experience using image analysis software programs

  • Experience with tES administration in human subjects

  • Experience working with mental health populations

  • Safety certified for MRI acquisition

  • Demonstrated experience with data management and recording

  • Knowledge of neuroanatomy, neuroscience, biomedical and electrical engineering, and/or related fields

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., bio-engineering, neuroscience)
