Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Los Angeles, California

Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant for a long term contract employment opportunity in Los Angeles, California. This role is within the real estate industry and involves maintaining and reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and other accounting duties.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports, including journal entries and bank reconciliations

• Overseeing the Accounts Receivable process, including monitoring cash receipts and reviewing tenant recurring charges and billing adjustments

• Coordinating the Accounts Payable process, ensuring proper audit trail exists

• Performing portfolio-level calculations and producing portfolio-level reports

• Reviewing leases and reconciling income per the rent roll to the income statement

• Assisting with annual budget preparation, including calculation of depreciation, amortization, debt service and common area charges

• Performing special projects and analysis as requested

• Communicating with Property Managers regarding tenant issues relating to accounting

• Supervising cash management function, including auditing petty cash and updating cash balances daily

• Monthly update of fixed asset schedule and review of Job Cost reports Requirements

• Proven experience in a Sr. Accountant role or a similar position

• Mastery of Microsoft Excel for complex financial analysis and data management

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation

• Experience in handling bank reconciliations effectively and efficiently

• Familiarity with the general ledger and journal entries preparation

• Ability to execute month-end close procedures in a timely manner

• Knowledge of Yardi software for property management and accounting

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required

• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is preferred

• Familiarity with GAAP and other accounting principles.
