WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to work in Los Angeles, California

Your Impact

  • Serve in a Program Manager role on mega rail transportation projects delivered via various delivery methods

  • Serve as Owner’s Representative, Delivery Partner, and or Independent PMO

  • Develop Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance

  • Responsible for independent review of project progress

  • Perform schedule review and analysis

  • Provide solutions to project issues

  • Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics

  • Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget

  • Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.

  • Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.

  • Accountable for overall management and successful execution of major projects within the transportation market, monitoring internal and external events, expenses, performance, and profitability.

  • Oversee the discipline’s vision and mission to promote an appropriate value proposition that accounts for corporate and WSP client business strategy, governmental regulations and policies, and QA/QC in delivery.

  • Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development.

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks.

  • Serve as program management discipline subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.

  • Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff.

  • Develop extensive high-level business contacts and client base for providing high program management services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities.

  • Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Extensive Design-Build project delivery experience as a Program Manager

  • 15 years of relevant experience

  • Experience in alternative delivery methods, such as progress/phased design build and or CMAR

  • Proven experience in the delivery of public rail transportation infrastructure projects, with construction costs in excess of $1 billion, preferably in on Light Rail Transit projects

  • Advanced SME-level proficiency with transit and rail engineering principles, practices, process, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent computer skill - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS Degree (Engineering)

  • PE License

  • PMP Certification

  • Progressive Design/Build or CMAR project delivery experience as a Program Manager

  • Experience in delivering Light Rail Transit projects

This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

Expected Salary: $295,790-400,410
