Robert Half Senior Accountant in Los Angeles, California

Description We are in search of a Senior Accountant to join our team based in Los Angeles, California, within the non-profit sector. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity and plays a crucial part in maintaining our financial stability and integrity. As a Senior Accountant, you will be tasked with a variety of financial responsibilities, including maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audit activities, and assisting in budget preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data by maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts

• Processing transactions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all supporting documents and approvals are verified

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, monthly reports, and analyses of budget variances

• Collaborating with program managers to keep track of project budgets, expenses, and grants

• Providing necessary documentation and support to auditors during the annual audit process

• Preparing and submitting regulatory reports and filings as required by funding sources and government agencies

• Contributing to the creation and implementation of internal controls and financial policies

• Staying informed about the latest nonprofit accounting standards and best practices. Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Demonstrated expertise in making Accounting Entries.

• Proven experience in a senior accounting role within a non-profit organization.

• Ability to produce accurate financial reports and statements in a timely manner.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Detail-oriented accounting certification such as CPA or CMA will be considered an asset.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and leadership.
