Job Description

An employer sitting in Downtown Los Angeles, CA is looking to hire a Project Engineer. This Engineer will be supporting multiple projects and Discipline Engineers. This poc will be the client representative directing the various engineering firms that do the detail design. This P.E. is the main point of contact for 8-10+ project managers for all technical matters and is responsible for the quality and timeliness of all engineering deliverables. The Project Engineer will help set up and conduct Bluebeam reviews of design packages at the 30%, 60%, 90%. This person will also manage the IFC stages and the technical activities in the project schedule. The P.E. will conduct regular status meetings with engineering firms and internal staff. The P.E. will also review and approve invoices from the firms and will review and manage RFIs and Change Orders. This is a full-time position and requires two in-office days per week, Wednesday and Thursday.

• Manage and coordinate all activities leading to the successful completion of projects including project scoping, timelines, cost estimates and design. Develop and maintain project parameters for project requirements. Provide direction to contractors, consultants, and project team. Coordinates input from and participation with various other departments within the Company as needed to meet project objective.

• Analyze and determine regulatory impacts and requirements of the project. May build business cases and justifications.

• Responsible for providing team/project goals and evaluating performance. Research and evaluate available contractors and consultants. Prepare, negotiate and approve or recommend approval of contracts. Negotiate contracts changes.

• Manage related workforce planning, budget analysis, and prepare budget forecasts.

Skills and Requirements

• 3-10 years of experience in Engineering, PE and EIT license

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Chemical)

• Knowledge of Gas Measurement, Pressure Control and regulator station equipment and its operations.

• Familiar with Transmission and Distribution System and how it operates

• Understanding of electrical, communications, instrumentation and controls

• Understanding of Engineering Design Package process and Project initiation

• Leadership skills, managing a team of 8-10 people for both owner and engineering firm contacts

Bluebeam experience, reviewing design packages, review RFI's and Change Orders - DOT Safety Sensitive

• PMP Certification null
