T he Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at the University of Southern California is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to work with Principal Investigator, Dr. Claradina Soto in projects funded by the Tobacco Related Disease Research Program. The scholar will be part of a research team that seeks to understand cancer-related health disparities as they relate to commercial tobacco and cannabis use among American Indian (AI) communities in California. The scholar will ensure that study procedures are followed; assist with qualitative data collection; coordinate data collection activities with community-based organizations; enter data, consent participants; track study participant tasks; analyze quantitative and qualitative data; write reports; and conduct various administrative duties. The position requires the ability to work with diverse populations. A doctoral degree in public health or related field is preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is $62,400 - $70,000. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years Minimum Experience: 0-1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods. Preferred Field of Expertise: Publications in peer-reviewed journals in the same or related field. If the doctoral candidate has not yet obtained a degree, he/she should provide evidence that a thesis has been approved together with a documented indication of the expected date of formal graduation. It is the responsibility of the faculty mentor to verify this documentation.
