UCLA Health Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery- Brain Tumor Program in Los Angeles, California

Description

The APP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care, and make appropriate referrals. Perform and document comprehensive history and physical examinations on pre-operative and post-operative patients. Primary responsibilities will be in the outpatient setting, but will assist in the operating room and inpatient neuro ICU/ward when needed. There will be opportunities for clinical research. Manage medical care of established/return/post op patients in collaboration with attending physicians with an independent outpatient clinic. Assure continuity of patient care on the UCLA Health Neurosurgery service and various outpatient facilities by means for evaluation and management of outpatient to inpatient coordination of care. Act as a liaison between patients and physicians as well as administrative staff and physicians in medically related situations. Review and interpret all diagnostic data and formulate a plan of care in collaboration with physicians and other members of the medical staff. Document services rendered.

*This is one APP position that will be filled as either a NP or PA . This position may convert to a Senior PA role based on experience.

PA Salary range: $74.95 - $100.86/hourly

Senior PA Salary range : $82.40 - $110.87/hourlyQualifications

  • BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association

  • ACLS from American Heart Association

  • CA PA License and National Board Certification

  • Degree from a PA program

  • DEA #, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES

  • Neurosurgery experience - preferred

  • Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel

  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction

  • Ability to set priorities

  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence

  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner

  • T his position may convert to a Senior PA role based on experience
