Overview:
The Paralegal will provide legal support to attorneys in handling legal matters for Paramount Pictures. This role involves assisting motion picture project attorneys and executives by drafting, reviewing, and handling contracts, including tax incentive documents and production services agreements, as well as handling other customary paralegal responsibilities. Additional duties include crafting, coordinating, and distributing reports that track various activities of the Motion Picture Legal department, such as restrictions summaries and background checks, revising and maintaining approved legal forms and language, implementing legal paperwork related to participation accounting changes, and performing other drafting tasks as assigned by the Executive Vice President, Worldwide Motion Picture Legal.
Responsibilities:
Assist motion picture project attorneys and executives in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts, including tax incentive documents
Build, coordinate, and distribute reports tracking legal department responsibilities, including restrictions summaries and background checks
Revise and maintain approved legal forms and contractual language
Draft and implement legal paperwork for participation accounting changes
Provide customary paralegal support, including notarizations and certifications
Performing legal research, analysis of law sources, and document review including contracts, opinions, reports, depositions, and filings
Assist in due diligence for film projects, including reviewing third-party rights, ensuring accurate licensing, and confirming compliance with industry regulations
Organize, manage, and maintain legal documents and files related to film projects, ensuring that they are accurately filed, stored, and accessible for reference
Support attorneys during contract negotiations by drafting terms and tracking changes
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of related professional or technical experience
Paralegal certification with extensive entertainment paralegal experience
Additional Qualifications:
Experience handling technology databases and legal software
Strong project management skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in conducting complex legal research
Flexibility in handling a wide variety of work assignments

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $70,000.00 - 85,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
