We are actively seeking a Bilingual Spanish Medical Records Clerk for a healthcare facility located in South Los Angeles. The ideal candidate should be fluent in English/Spanish and experienced in processing and maintaining medical records in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Process patient medical records and maintain an orderly filing system.

• Retrieve medical records upon request from healthcare professionals.

• Review patient records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.

• Assist in preparing statistical reports and manage correspondence related to medical records.

• Protect patient confidentiality in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.

• Help oversee the release of information to persons and agencies according to business protocols.

• Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring they understand their records and any release information process.

• Provide excellent customer service and handle any related administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Certificate in Health Information Management or related field is preferred.

• Fluency in both English and Spanish- written and oral, is required.

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting managing medical records is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (EMR) and MS Office Suite.

• Excellent organization skills and ability to maintain accurate records.

• Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.

• Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with diverse patients, professionals, and staff.
