Netflix Manager, Communications - Product and Technology in Los Angeles, California

The Netflix product and technology communications team is a lean but mighty group who are obsessed with telling stories around features and innovations that underpin the Netflix member product, mobile app, growth, design, engineering, and more. From the ability to download a movie (or three) before a long flight to the secret sauce of how we create those rows of personalized content tailored for your every mood, product comms is the voice behind it all.
The Role:
The Manager of Product & Technology Communications will own communications for our Technology, Engineering, and Design teams and drive both proactive/reactive narratives around our continued industry-leading work in these areas.

Our ideal candidate will be a proactive go-getter, a strong verbal and written communicator, ability to navigate ambiguity, comfortable working closely with and media training senior level spokespeople, bring existing relationships with tech thought leaders and reporters to the table, and have extreme attention to detail.
This role is based out of the Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities:
Proactively identify story angles, craft creative and unique pitches, and identify key and viable targets to land incredible stories.
Deliver quality results on engineering focused stories around OpenConnect, Live, and our Tech Blog.
Dive into our work on AI & GenAI and make clear decisions around both reactive/proactive messaging.
Help support on other product areas, including consumer & growth, where needed.
Identify industry speaking opps and craft talking points for engineers, product design, and other leaders to deliver.
Draft comms plans, announcements, briefing materials, and narrative documents for stakeholders.
Own and develop key relationships with tech reporters and influencers.
Qualifications
8+ years of relevant work experience.
Proactive go-getter with extreme attention to detail.
Ability to make decisions as quickly as possible, with sound judgment.
Be equally comfortable working independently and with stakeholders.
A positive, optimistic, and scrappy attitude – even when faced with ambiguity and change.
Comfortable giving and receiving feedback frequently.
Have a strong point of view and keen ability to share and socialize with others.
A strong bias-for-action – be curious and always on the lookout for the next interesting story or project.
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $160,000-$320,000.

We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
