Description
A growing nonprofit is seeking a Grant Accountant to join their team! As a Grant Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities related to awarded grants, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and assisting with budget preparations. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. This role is HYBRID in the office Downtown Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all accounting tasks related to granted funds.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports for internal management and external funders.
• Ensure strict adherence to both organizational and funder policies and regulations.
• Maintain an up-to-date record of all financial data associated with each grant, including budgets, commitments, obligations, balances, and expenses.
• Assist in creating budgets or financial components of grant proposals.
• Liaise with project managers to ensure accurate and timely project reporting and billing.
• Collaborate with both internal and external auditors to facilitate audits.
• Reconcile all accounts related to grants.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
Proven experience of multiple years working as an Accountant within a non-profit organization.
Experience in grant accounting or governance will be preferred.
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, and budgeting.
Proficiency in accounting and data management software.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
