Robert Half Director of Human Resources and Payroll in Los Angeles, California
Description We are in search of a Director of Human Resources and Payroll to join our team based in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will focus on the development and implementation of HR strategies, manage HR policies and procedures, and oversee all aspects of HR including talent acquisition, onboarding, and training development. You will also be expected to manage employee benefits programs and drive employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work culture.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement HR strategies in alignment with the overall business objectives
• Oversee all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, onboarding, training and development, performance management, safety, compliance, and labor and employee relations
• Manage and maintain HR policies and procedures
• Administer employee benefits programs ensuring competitive and cost-effective offerings
• Implement initiatives to drive employee engagement and promote a positive work culture
• Collaborate with senior management to identify and address HR-related challenges and opportunities
• Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on HR-related issues
• Develop the HR team to deliver high-quality HR services and support to the organization
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals and objectives
• Stay updated on all relevant employment laws and regulations
Skills:
• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode, Ceridian, HCM
• Knowledge of Benefit Functions, Communication, Compliance, Employee Relations, Hiring Processes, Audit Compliance, California Labor Law, Labor Employee Relations
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Benefits Payroll
• Experience with Payroll - 101 - 500 Employees, Payroll - Garnishments, Payroll - In-House, Payroll - Manual
• Ability in Policy administration, Policy development, Policy implementation, Employee Recognition, Health Care Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role within a Human Resources and Payroll department
• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
• Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode and Ceridian
• Solid understanding of HCM and Benefit Functions
• Excellent Communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Compliance and Employee Relations
• Experience in Hiring Processes and Audit Compliance
• Familiarity with California Labor Law and Labor Employee Relations
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred
• Experience in Benefits Payroll and managing Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees
• Familiarity with Payroll - Garnishments, Payroll - In-House, Payroll - Manual
• Solid experience in Policy administration, Policy development, and Policy implementation
• Experience in Employee Recognition programs
• Familiarity with Health Care policies and regulations
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
• Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
