What you’ll do:
As a newly hired employee in the Design & Project Engineer – Aerospace Direct Hire Program , you will work in a dynamic, fast paced environment working on technology and components for the next generation of military and commercial aircraft. This includes design, development and testing for electrical/electronic systems, products, and components for space, military, and commercial aerospace applications. As you begin your career as an Electrical Engineer with Eaton, you will:
Key tasks include engineering support for problem solving and working with manufacturing & quality teams to address production issues. As Eaton is a global company, this role will also provide product engineering oversight and technical support for similar hardware produced at other Eaton factories. Candidates must have strong organization skills and effectively multi-task to accomplish a variety of assignments in support of new product introduction, product improvements, and troubleshooting of issues. The role requires sound engineering judgment to rapidly address business critical operations.
Complete conceptual/clean sheet designs for less complex technical domains.
Support design work for projects.
Design for risks, design trade-off, and component interactions.
Perform root cause analysis as per Mechanical Failure Analysis (Fatigue / Fracture / Corrosion / Wear) and improve the design to prevent the failures.
Complete Qualification planning for a given system.
Run analysis tools within their technical domain.
Analyze collected test data utilizing fully automated techniques.
Work with Manufacturing and Quality engineering to provide technical support for production issues within the factory as well as at our suppliers.
As necessary, participate on continuous improvement teams as Product Engineering representative. Work in team environment to meet plant driven metrics for quality, safety, delivery, performance, and inventory.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering from an accredited institution, with a graduation date before August 2025
Minimum of one internship or co-op experience completed at the time of this application
Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8
Geographic flexibility to relocate within the United States
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications
Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
Two or more relevant internships or co-op experiences
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
Design engineering experience
Experience working in the Aerospace industry
Position Criteria:
Ability to read and understand Drawings, Specifications, and Requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate technical details to non-technical individuals.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite tools.
Ability to plan and manage multiple priorities, as well as switch focus efficiently.
Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level executive team.
This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Assignment Manager
Ability to relocate to one of the following Eaton facilities: Irvine, CA, Euclid, OH, Jackson, MS, and Grand Rapids, MI
Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The salary for this role is $90,000 a year, dependent on the work location and qualifications met. This position offers a one-time $6,000 signing bonus and relocation lump sum package.
