UCLA Health Administrative Assistant II - Cashier (On-Site) in Los Angeles, California

Description

Working under the general direction of Cashiering Services Supervisor, the Administrative Assistant II - Cashier will be responsible for:

  • Providing great customer service to the UCLA Health community

  • Performing operational cashiering functions on two separate cashiering systems, such as processing customer payments and department deposit transactions, balancing and reconciling on all systems, and preparing bank deposits

  • Assisting patients with billing inquiries and patient valuables release

  • Working in strict adherence to set procedures, policies, University Guidelines (BUS 49), Internal Control Guidelines (Policy 360), HIPAA, Red Flag Rules, Payment Card Industry Regulations

  • UCLA Health salary range for this title code is $25.60 - $36.33/hourly. Please note that the department's target pay range is $25.60 - $28.53/hourly.

Qualifications

We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed individual with:

  • A minimum of two year of cash handling experience.

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience/certification/training.

  • Skill in handling currency quickly and accurately.

  • Skill in accurate record keeping with strict attention to detail.

  • Understanding of Payment Card Industry regulations and HIPAA guidelines.

  • Experience in managing cashier fund and processing night depository deposits.

  • Operate 10-key calculator by touch

  • Knowledge of security procedures and confidentiality maintenance in financial operations.

  • Skill in organizing tasks, documents and materials with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Skill in using a PC and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel Outlook).

  • Skill in effectively communicating with tact and diplomacy.

  • Ability to understand and interpret university policies and procedures, related to responsibilities of the job, and convey to customers.

  • Ability to lift 40lbs.
