Los Alamos National Laboratory System Analyst 2/3 in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
This position will be filled at either the Systems Analyst 2/Systems Analyst 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
The Production Systems & Technology Group (PSS-1) of the Production Support Services Division is seeking a passionate and results-driven Product Owner who will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our products by defining and prioritizing features, ensuring alignment with business goals, and serving as the bridge between stakeholders and the development team in support of the Weapons Production Directorate.
As a Systems Analyst for the Online Collaboration and Infrastructure team, you will serve as the Product Owner for multiple technical projects, leading the team's project management efforts in website and software design while utilizing Scrum and Agile software development methodologies. Your responsibilities will involve planning and overseeing the unclassified and classified CMS and SharePoint sites and applications for ALDWP. In this role, you will act as the primary interface with stakeholders, engaging with customers to understand their business processes, collaborating with the Scrum team to deliver customer requirements and develop solutions to complex technical challenges, overseeing project management tasks, and providing regular updates and required reporting. The Systems Analyst will leverage advanced knowledge and experience in Agile project management (Scrum) to guide the team in effectively adopting and utilizing Agile practices and principles.

Systems Analyst 2 ($83,900 - $136,600)
Provides leadership and tactical planning for project execution and applies technical or operational knowledge and experience to achieve project objectives.
Oversee and monitor projects, manage risks, track milestones, and deliver status updates.
Ensure work is executed in a secure and compliant manner while meeting project performance objectives and goals.
Develop processes and procedures surrounding Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing (QAT/UAT).
Effectively communicate with various levels of management within PSS Division, ALDWP and ALDPI.
Decision making skills.
Participation in special assignments.
Intermediate knowledge of web development tools.
Provides training and support to end users.
Systems Analyst 3 ($101,700 - $168,200):
In addition to what is outlined at the 2 level, a SA3 will be responsible for:
Advanced knowledge overseeing and monitoring projects, manage risks, track milestones, and deliver status updates.
Proven ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts effectively.
Advanced decision-making skills.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Product Owner roles and process improvement initiatives.
Background in data analysis or metrics-driven decision-making.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Technical Expertise:
Experience working with SharePoint, Content Management Systems or similar software.
Experience with Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing.
Experience in Agile methodologies/Scrum Framework working Environments.
Experience using product management software such as Jira, Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
Knowledge of UX/UI principles and practices.
Customer Service:
Exceptional communication skills, and the ability to deliver value-driven solutions.
Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes-stressful situations.
Proven ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel, building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts.
Leadership Experience:
Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner or Project Manager.
Act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the Scrum team, providing direction and guidance throughout the development process.
Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap, aligning it with the business objectives.
Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
Monitor progress, evaluate completed work, and ensure it meets the agreed-upon acceptance criteria.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving and prioritization skills, with a focus on delivering value to customers.
Proven ability to successfully gather, analyze and refine requirements into actionable user stories.
Work closely with the development team to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and timely delivery of features.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews to drive collaboration and transparency.
Continuously evaluate product performance, incorporating feedback to optimize and enhance the user experience.
Advocate for Agile best practices and contribute to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Education/Experience Systems Analyst 2:
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 4 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Postgraduate degree in related field may serve as years of related experience.
Education/Experience Systems Analyst 3:
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 8 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.
Desired Qualifications:
Active DOE "Q" clearance.
Scrum Master Certification (CSM)
Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. *Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
