Summary:
Performs the in-process and final inspection of tools, fixtures and jigs used in subassembly and final assembly of manufactured products. Analyze engineering blueprints, models, process specifications, shop travelers and manufacturing planning documents to determine nature and extend of inspection requirements. Maintains accurate records of all tool calibration activities and monitors intervals with a high level of accuracy. Works with production supervisors and leads to maintain steady flows of tooling in and out of designated queues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Determines most practical inspection method and technique; plans sequence of operation; selects precision measuring instruments and equipment to dimensionally inspect units. Uses shop mathematics, decimals and fractions in the performance of the work noted herein.
Conducts first article, receiving inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection assignments as applicable; visually and dimensionally inspects a wide variety of tooling and aerospace assemblies/components.
Prepares rework tags, inspection reports and documentation. Coordinates rejection with MRB, engineering and customer representatives for depositions and process refinement. Assembles end item documentation for the review and acceptance of finished products. Prepares and maintains history files, records and reports.
Plans and executes daily workflow to support manufacturing operations.
Set-up and run Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine with Calypso 5.4 software.
Operate Metronics QC5000 CMM program.
Operate Romer Arm Verisurf with version 10 software.
Maintain CMM cleanliness and operations.
Operate and maintain Comparators.
Interpret complex tool drawings.
Use Standard Measuring Instruments (including sine plates) to make inspection set-ups.
Initiate appropriate inspection reports.
File drawings and reports.
Assist inspection whenever necessary.
Review and accept inspection data from outside facilities.
