Robert Half Bookkeeper in Los Alamitos, California
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in our Property Management industry based in Los Alamitos, California. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Key responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations.
• Perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.
• Utilize software for managing financial transactions and creating financial reports.
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations, ensuring all financial transactions are correctly recorded.
• Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner.
• Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
• Execute accounts receivable duties: invoices, deposits, collections.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Analyze financial reports to identify and understand potential discrepancies.
• Collaborate with management or the human resources department to reconcile any payroll discrepancies. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role
• Proficiency in account reconciliation processes
• Experience in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Familiarity with bank reconciliation procedures
• Demonstrated competency in bookkeeping practices
• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in completing month end close tasks
• Knowledge of payroll systems and procedures
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify errors
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
