Job Description

An aerospace company in Los Alamitos is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of the fabrication or sub-assembly production area. The candidate will direct and support the hourly employees to achieve production targets and overall company goals. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate with other departments to deliver high-quality products to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, coach, and support all direct reports.

Use Problem Solving Process to identify root causes of issues and assign proper teams to implement countermeasures in assembly, welding, and fabrication of components, sub-assemblies, or final assemblies.

Consistently use daily management to ensure continuous flow through the area for 1st and 2nd shift.

Actively use visual management to monitor day-to-day productivity on the floor and quickly identify potential issues that may disrupt flow.

Define and recommend production objectives through the development of short and long-term goals.

Supervise installation and maintenance of all equipment used in manufacturing.

Ensure prompt, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of finished products to customers.

Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to ensure top quality and service is provided to customers.

Formulate and instill standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs, and production figures.

Keep accurate and timely records on all employees and programs for the department.

Comprehend and execute the Union agreement.

Enforce safety regulations and promote all safety programs.

Pay range: $80-90k

Skills and Requirements

2+ years of experience

Able to work 2nd shift on a 980 schedule

Experience supervising an assembly area

Experience with metals

Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement or root cause corrective actions

Gemba walks or line walks Bachelor's degree

Experience or knowledge of Union work null
