Job Title: Auto Train Driver

Job Description

The Auto Train Driver is responsible for driving automobiles between the vehicle reception area and the automobile carriers. This role requires strict adherence to corporate policies, health and safety protocols, and all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate the vehicle ramp for vehicle loading and unloading to both levels of bi-level vehicle carriers.

• Ensure the placement and removal of protective materials.

• Drive the vehicle onto the carriers.

• Drive the vehicle to the reception area upon arrival.

• Load and unload motorcycles onto Amtrak-furnished carts and tow the carts on and off vehicle carriers.

• Assist Chockers in the precise positioning of automobiles within the vehicle carriers.

• Wear and use required protective equipment while working.

• Take responsibility for own safety while on the job.

• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing, and reasoning skills).

• Valid driver's license.

• Skill in operating all types of vehicles.

• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call.

• Ability to work outdoors in inclement conditions.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process.

Work Environment

The work environment is at a rail car station with a shift from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adhere to safety protocols, including wearing protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
