The City of Lonoke is seeking an individual with administrative and interpersonal skills to work in the Water Department Billing Office.

Job Description for Water Clerk Position\ Reports to the Public Works Director\ Be able to talk to people\ Comfortable with Damage Control\ Be able to have or develop a customer friendly mindset\ Smile through the phone\ Be comfortable around money\ Responsible for compiling billing data and managing residential payments\ Process accounts receivable and maintains records system for the water department\ Satisfies customer inquiries and provides Director with research as required\ Issues invoices, collects payments, and manages business license records\ Assists customers with billing inquiries, requests for services, utility disconnect, and other\ service-related issues\ Process bank drafts and deposits; process customer payments and collects deposits for new\ accounts\ Enters meter readings, identifies anomalies, and manages water meter checks when necessary\ Process leak adjustments and record amended payments\ Record employee time sheets and track both vacation and sick time accrued\ Complete purchase orders\ Responds to customer inquiries and complaints\ Complete administrative practices\ Maintain an efficient filing system\ Maintain Water User Data Base and coordinate with utility providers to remediate delinquent\ accounts\ Prepare reports, reconcile records, and register payments\ Manage additional accounts for services provided by the city i.e. garbage, fire, leaf and limb,\ mosquito, and animal control\ Issues, renews, and records notices for city privilege licenses
