The Fabrication Shop Stratus & QC Coordinator plays a key role in providing Quality Control input for Stratus in the Pipe Fabrication Shop. This role ensures seamless collaboration between office coordination, QA/QC operations, and field operations. The coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of assigned tasks and requires a strong understanding of construction QA/QC practices, particularly in mechanical disciplines. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and proficient in using computer systems and software to manage tasks and maintain organization. They will play a critical role in supporting the efficient operation of the fabrication shop and ensuring quality standards are consistently met across all projects.
Salary Range: $25-$33 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible).
Key Responsibilities:
Maintains stratus tracking systems for all fab jobs and ensures the systems are updated, organized, and orderly; items are filed within three business days of receipt.
Maintain and update Spool Tracker/Time Tracker, including diameter-inch counts from ISOs for spool tracking, information, and productivity.
Performs specific duties such as maintaining reference area organization daily, including document updates and timely completion.
Learns, stays current on, and utilizes available company technology, including PCs, relevant software, and other office equipment.
Assists and provides administrative support and guidance to other staff to ensure timely and accurate task completion.
Performs information and document control support tasks.
Files code paperwork with the state.
Relationships:
Maintain proactive and positive relationships within the crafts, including shop and field craft personnel.
Foster positive relationships with customer representatives, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, safety, CAD/BIM, accounting, IT, and all project teams.
Experience / Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent certification.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in administrative support.
Preferred: Experience within the construction QA/QC field.
Preferred: Experience with Bluebeam.
Proficiency in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Smartsheet.
Necessary Skills:
Solid understanding of pipe welding, pipe testing, and Quality Control (QC) processes.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects at hand.
Able to organize and manage large amounts of files, tasks, schedules, and information.
Self-directed and able to work with limited supervision.
Energetic and eager to prioritize workload and tackle new projects and ideas.
The ability to input data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements for this role include the ability to transition frequently between an office and a construction field setting. In the office, the individual must be able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, performing repetitive tasks such as typing and using a mouse, and communicating by telephone. In the field, the individual must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods on various surfaces, including uneven terrain, and climbing stairs as required. The role also necessitates the ability to kneel, crouch, and crawl to view/inspect tight spaces, as well as lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Good vision and hearing are essential for reading plans, inspecting work, and communicating on-site. The individual must also be adaptable to working outdoors in various weather conditions, adhere to site-specific dress codes, and comply with safety requirements by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. Flexibility to travel between job sites and work outside regular business hours when necessary is also required.
