Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

 

Provide driving and vehicle instruction to CDL students (Required curriculum provided).

Maintain FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) medical certificate. 

Maintain all required WSDOT (Washington State Department of Transportation) Professional License requirements.

Use effective classroom and instructional practices to prepare students for current industry standards.

Maintain an effective, safe, and respectful learning environment.

Ensure that appropriate safety practices and procedures are followed at all times and that students are trained on proper safety techniques, personal protective equipment, and that all equipment and machines are in safe working order.

Effectively prepare and present content to a diverse student population with various learning styles and abilities.

Assess, evaluate, and document student learning and achievement of course competencies and outcomes. 

Provide verbal and written feedback to students in a timely manner including the grading and competency assessment of assignments.

Complete required reports in a timely manner.

Communicate with LCC's CDL administrative staff regarding student progress and program progression.

Provide individualized support to promote student success.

Maintain currency of content and materials, including course syllabi.

Effectively interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as a member of the Industrial Technology department. 

Communicate effectively in oral and written English.
