Job Overview

We are recruiting a Value Stream Leader to support our Longview Operations motor shop. Komatsu offers excellent pay, benefits, tuition reimbursement, annual bonus incentives, and annual merit review. This position supervises and coordinates the activities of motor shop supporting the various operations activities, final assembly, subassembly, machining, and fabrication. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Key Job Responsibilities

Drive culture of Zero Harm.

Assists manager with overseeing workers and labor. Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

Provides direction, development, and leadership to operations personnel. Enforces safety and regulations.

Performs pre-shift safety meetings and any safety stand downs required.

Reads and analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.

Demonstrates equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees or assigns employees to experienced workers for training.

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum of 4 years progressive production experience, including 2 years team lead or related supervisory experience.

High School diploma required, technical degree or above preferred.

Broad knowledge of Plant Manufacturing Operations and understanding of engineering drawings and structured bills of material.

Financial acumen (budget development and management)

Additional Information

Confers with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances. Interprets specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers. Monitors performance for production and quality standards in compliance with work instructions.

Prepares and maintains departmental reports, such as service reports, injury reports, etc.

Maintains equipment and supplies, submitting work orders as required for maintenance repairs.

Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives. Incorporates shop floor organization and cleanliness among personnel.

Maintains safe working conditions and practices in the unit. As well as Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
