JMT's Construction Management Team is seeking a CEI Inspector. The successful candidates will apply standard quality assurance and inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.
This is a Quality Assurance / Inspection Position for highway construction projects. This position includes verification and documentation of compliance with contract requirements and TxDOT Construction.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance with contract requirements and safety regulations
Perform verification of conformance to standards for testing on asphalt, concrete, soils, and other materials
Ability to measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
Record field notes, other documentation, computations and prepares reports
Gathers, review, and maintains project records (using SiteManager and other documentation systems)

Required Skills
Computer Proficiency
Active driver's license
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
Required Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within six (6) months
Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection
One (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction
Qualifications Preferred
Qualifications/Certifications for this position may be obtained within six (6) months from the date of hire provided that the position works under the supervision and direction of a Senior Inspector or Senior Engineer Intern, all other requirements for the position are met, and a training plan is submitted detailing when the qualifications/certifications will be obtained.
TxDOT Project Experience
TxDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI Concrete Field Technician is prerequisite)
SB101 and 102 Certification - Provider: Hot Mix Asphalt Center (HMAC)
HMA 1B Certification - Provider: Hot Mix Asphalt Center (HMAC)
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course
TEEX HWS 002 Work Zone Traffic Control
Nuclear Radiation Safety
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
