Aston Carter Maintenance Cost Analyst (Aerospace Opportunity) in Longueuil, Quebec
Aston Carter is seeking a Maintenance Cost Analyst to work for an Aerospace company located in the south shore for a long term opportunity.
Job Description
The Maintenance Cost Analyst will be playing an instrumental in collaborating with organizations such as Customer Engineers, MRO shops, Customer Managers, Marketing, Commercial experts, and the Engineering organization in support of the Engine models, including providing support and assistance to your co-worker within the Aftermarket Product Cost team. They will be seeking to understanding the replacement rate of parts within engines to ensure a smooth profitability matrix.
Responsibilities:
This individual will be supporting all engine programs which stretch across all markets.
This person will be predicting the parts replacement rate/cost for future shop visits. In essence, they will be studying the part level details (Gears, Bearings, Blades ) and working with technical specialists to understand if the replacement rates are within specification or not.
They will be extracting data from data base and running trend analysis. They will also be doing a lot of root-cause analysis.
Once the data has been modeled, the maintenance analysis will discuss with product experts (Engineers, shop experts) to validate the data and ensure this data and trend is relevant to specifications of the engine. These trends can sometimes be altered if there are new Service Bulletins for example.
While there is a data analysis portion of the role, the main part of the role is investigative and relational with program stakeholders. Example: People who enjoy doing root-cause analysis will enjoy this role.
In some cases they will be looking for alternate data sources to compare/contrast their findings.
They will be presenting their findings to management and consolidating their insights in a meaningful and credible way.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s in a related field such as Aeronautics, Industrial Engineering, Commerce, Finance, etc...
2-5+ years of professional experience in a related field/role. Example: Investigation in insurance claim. Any kind of investigative work. Understanding how stuff breaks and WHY.
Excellent English / French communication skills (Intermediate French)
Strong data management skills – Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and analytical skills.
