Seagate US LLC Engineer II in Longmont, Colorado

Job Duties: Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes. Design and customize software for client use Analyze users' needs and develop system solutions. Develop technologies and tools to enhance the reliability and performance of disc drives. Design and implement disc drive controller firmware for embedded system applications. Work with design functions to deploy new value add functions in the next generation's disc drives. Conduct unit level testing firmware using PC-based simulation, emulation, and co-verification methods. Participate in document and code reviews. Work on object-oriented designs and software development using C programming language and unit level testing to ensure requirement conformance. Debug through emulation, simulation, and hardware and firmware co-verification.

Minimum Requirements: Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or in related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation

Special Requirements: Position requires experience, knowledge or coursework in each of the following skills:

  1. Optimizing algorithms to meet the performance goals and engineering workarounds for design defects;
  2. Remodeling firmware design and customer facing documents;
  3. Debugging firmware activities for multiple SATA/SAS products;
  4. Developing new firmware features for the next-gen storage systems; and
  5. C Programming and Python Scripting.

Salary range for this position in Longmont, Colorado is: $102,419 to $115,498 per year. Actual salary range is based on the regional labor market of the role in the geography in which the position is located based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
