EMSL Analytical Inc. Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I in Long Island City, New York
EMSL is seeking a Sample Receiving Data Entry Clerk I in Long Island City, NY. This is an administrative support position for the laboratory manager and the analysts. It will oversee the shipping, receiving, distributing, and logging in of samples. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Receive environmental samples and enter Chain of Custody into LIMS systemReview paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctnessInspect samples to ensure sample integrity is retained and that the packaging is not compromisedMake sure all samples are placed in the proper storage area to await analysisAnswer high volume phone calls and interface with clientsAssist with customer service client questions via phone and e-mailAct as a liaison between clients and laboratory staffClerical duties such as answering phones, filing, faxing, assisting clients, scanning, and mailing as necessaryMay require transferring and/or transporting samples between between Manhattan service center and Long Island City lab Requirements:High School Degree or equivalentExcellent Customer Service Skills- Customer Service Experience is a plusExcellent computer skillsMust be proficient in MS Office especially Excel and typingExcellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clienteleAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-taskTeam playerAbility to prioritize work assignmentsAttention to detail and organized Must be able to lift min 35lbsMust be able to stand and sit for various lengths of timeAvailable Shift:Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Training Schedule to start will be Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
