Description
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the VP of Patient Access, the director of admissions will screen, interview, schedule and complete assessments /admissions and supervise both LIC and Long Island admissions departments. The director of admissions will also directly supervise the call center department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Facilitates waiting lists for patients and families as a means of support for them while awaiting treatment services.
Coordinates and completes the admission and discharge process to maintain an accurate daily census
Coordinates and completes the admission of patients with approval by their authorized representatives and/or funding agencies.
Conduct in services/ outreach with external referral sources.
Supervise the call center department; ensures that all treatment calls are managed timely
Performs assessments, screening, and crisis intervention with patients as required.
Evaluates test results, psych evaluations and other reports/interviews to determine if candidate is appropriate for treatment at Phoenix House.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation in accordance with the expectations and standards of Phoenix House policy and procedures and state licensing requirements.
Participates in clinical reviews, staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings in accordance with program needs.
Establish and maintains community agency communications and contacts.
Assists in marketing the program and increasing the referral base.
Provides support for and supervision of admission teams
Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements.
Adheres to and promotes the Phoenix House mission and values. Acts as a role model to patients and other staff.
Adheres to the professional ethics and conduct of standards as established by professional licensure and the policies of Phoenix House.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Master’s degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
- NYS LMSW, LCSW or LMHC
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum two years working in substance use treatment
Familiarity with regulations governing substance use treatment services
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
