Eaton Corporation Test Engineer in Long Branch, New Jersey

Eaton’s ES EMEA CS LS division is currently seeking a Test Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $75037.5 - $110055.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of life safety products. Your role involves designing, executing, and analyzing tests to validate the performance, reliability, and safety of these life safety products.

Test Planning and Design:

• Collaborate with product design teams to understand the product features.

• Develop detailed test plans, including test cases, test data, and acceptance criteria.

• Define test objectives and success metrics.

Test Execution:

• Conduct functional, performance, and reliability tests.

• Use testing tools (e.g., Jira) to plan, manage, and communicate.

• Perform manual testing when necessary.

• Validate hardware components, firmware, and software interfaces.

• Track all tests, test case executions, defects, and requirements traceability.

Quality Assurance:

• Identify defects, anomalies, and performance bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with development teams to address issues promptly.

Regression Testing:

• Maintain regression test suites to verify product functionality across releases due to changes in components, firmware, ...

• Monitor changes and assess their impact on existing features and on regulatory.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Document test procedures, results, and findings.

• Prepare clear and concise test reports for stakeholders.

• Communicate test outcomes to cross-functional teams.

Continuous Improvement:

• Propose process improvements and optimize testing workflows.

• Stay informed about industry trends, and best practices.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Long Branch, NJ will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems, emergency communication devices, and related protocols

  • Experience in test automation tools and scripting languages

  • Experience as a test engineer or test technician

Skills:

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
