Position Summary:

Facilitates supplier/subcontractor business relationships, in-service requirements and performance to contractual obligations and expectations. Develops and participates in the implementation of supply base plans to support customer, program and commodity strategies. Analyzes and monitors supplier quality, delivery and financial performance data to identify risks, issues and opportunities. Develops mitigation plans. Identifies and participates in supplier and business improvement activities. Provides outcomes for potential integration into contracting strategies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive procedures and policies to measure and ensure supplier performance. Develops and coordinates quality improvement activities with supply chain. Initiates Corrective Action Report management and resolution.

  • Works with supplier organizations to rectify and improve OTD and quality issues. Develops and executes improvement plans with suppliers as required. Leads efforts required to develop, implement, and verify manufacturing control systems at suppliers.

  • Develops and executes supplier process assessments/audits, recommends improvements, and monitors implementation of changes. Implements supplier scorecard to measure suppliers on critical characteristics, reviewing scorecards with suppliers and with nonconforming suppliers to develop action plans.

  • Reviews capability and capacity of supplier and informs management and supply chain organization of significant gaps.

  • Promotes design for manufacturability by working with Product Engineering and suppliers.

  • Responsible for key internal quality metrics (Supplier OTD, Quality).

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 4-6 years of related work experience

  • Experience with analyzing data for accuracy and correctly interpreting results

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written

  • Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders (co-workers and suppliers)

  • Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and troubleshooting skills

  • Working knowledge of standard quality practices

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Relational Databases, and Outlook

  • Detailed understanding of root cause analysis, process mapping, manufacturing assessments, and control plan development

  • Understanding of business metrics, and measurement criteria

  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 requirements

  • Knowledge of lean principles, preferred

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Related Field of Study. Experience in lieu of education.

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Related Field of Study (preferred)
