ASM Global Catering Sales Coordinator in Long Beach, California
POSITION TITLE: Catering Sales CoordinatorDEPARTMENT: SAVOR - Food and BeverageREPORTS TO: Director of Catering Sales & EventsFLSA DESIGNATION: Non-ExemptHourly Rate: $32-$38
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Catering Sales Coordinator for ASM Global/Savor at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. The Catering Sales Coordinator will plan and execute all sales of food and beverage for events for assigned events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Primary contact for your assigned client(s) before, during and after their event.• Provide leadership and communications on behalf of your client to The Long Beach Convention Center Event Managers, Food Operations and Culinary.• Planning, selling, and details for all menus for each assigned event, including Custom Menu Requests to Culinary and Purchasing departments.• Prepare Excel revenue and Ungerboek/Momentus forecast for hosted and retail services for assigned events.• Work with Event Managers and Operation Managers for strategic planning.• Create contracts, sales orders, and payment process.• Act as a liaison in communication between F&B Sales and all other F&B departments, Event Managers and client.• Continually interact with clients for program requirements before, during and after each event.• Attend production meetings and site visits for assigned events.• Communicate event progress and planning details to Event Managers, Food Operations and Culinary assigned to your event(s).
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Catering Sales & Events as needed.
QualificationsBA Degree is required and/or 3 years’ experience as a Catering/Food and Beverage Team Member, Event Planner, Hotel Convention Services or Meeting Planner.• Strong written and oral communication skills• Organized, ability to prioritize and have strong time management skills• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment• Positive disposition and ability to motivate all staff to offer hospitality service that exceeds guest’s expectations• Able to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) and other hospitality/catering software• Well-developed interpersonal skills; experience working with diverse clients, professionals and staff members
Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. Catering Software Proficient such as Caterease, Ungerboek/Momentus
Other QualificationsPrior hotel and convention experience a plusFamiliarity working with unions and an understanding of CBA rules
