Sierra Nevada Corporation Sr. Supplier Management Specialist in Lone Tree, Colorado

As a Sr Supplier Management Specialist, you'll plan and implement activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. You'll ensure the availability of materials from supply chain, as scheduled. You may lead a matrixed supplier management team in managing and facilitating assigned supply chain's program execution and identify, mitigate and resolve risks/issues, as well as facilitating supply chain's performance of government contracts in a supply chain management team environment. You'll partner with the Program Office, Engineering, Operations and Business Management in developing and establishing target prices and schedules for assigned suppliers and then execute within that plan. Within constructs of the execution plan, you'll guide a matrixed team in managing and facilitating all relevant supply chain's program execution and identifying, mitigating and resolving risks/issues to ensure all work products meet cost, schedule and technical requirements. Additionally, your responsibilities will include reviewing contractual documents to ensure adherence to company policy, government specifications and requirements, and conformance to master agreements. Must be able to work independently with little supervision.

Responsibilities:
Create the Program-level Subcontract Management Plan, including strategy, structure, roles reporting responsibilities, and communication plan
Lead, programmatic and technical meetings with the subcontractors
May be delegated Control Account Manager responsibilities from Program Manager
May be responsible for make / buy assessments
May be assigned as the Subcontract Program Manager for a given, large and/or complex subcontract – executing the role of Program Manager for the given subcontract
Responsible for the coordination between supply chain and the program, ensuring supply chain personnel responsible for supplier performance execute to their schedules and deliver on milestones
If assigned to a platform, product line, BU or product support team, collaborate and communicate potential long-term investment strategies to reduce lead-time and cost
Identify and coordinate the need for alternate/additional sources to the program and engineering to improve competition and leverage - be the supply chain architect on the proposal or program, delivering a competitive, capable, compliant program supply base
Articulate and communicate subcontract and major procurement status, risk & opportunity management, and issues with corresponding recovery plans to all stakeholders
Develop and status program Subcontract Stoplight Chart, highlighting current cost, technical and schedule performance of each program subcontract
Within proposal or program setting, lead business requirements, technical evaluations, risk assessments and Basis of Estimate requirements and supporting strategies on behalf of supply chain
Attend Program Reviews with subcontractors, providing program updates, needs and status, requesting and communicating program-driven changes and needs
Provide supply chain strategy and status to external customers
As required, track and coordinate EVM metrics to all stakeholders
Ensure subcontract management teams are staffed to requirement needs
Ensure problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner as the liaison between SCM and the program
Identification of potential sources of supply
Development of source selection strategy, criteria and planning, including participation in Make / Buy assessments
Develop and document labor and non-labor program Basis of Estimates associated with subcontracts and major procurements
Develop program/technical requirements documents
Support technical evaluation of proposals for content and quality
Lead the development of source selection plans, communicate and justify results to program leadership
Provide subcontractor and critical supplier related input into customer proposal
Ensure subcontractors’ milestone payment plans are aligned with program expectations, budget and plans
Develop preliminary Subcontract Management Team for successful new program start-up
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 4 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Must be able to apply data sets for effective management of their assigned suppliers
Experience managing programs
Knowledge of program management and subcontract management techniques
The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required
Qualifications We Prefer:
Technical/Engineering/Finance degree. Higher education (postgraduate) may substitute for relevant experience.
Experience with Program Management
Basic understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as it applies to Supplier Management
Experience with any of these areas: working in defense, aircraft, aerospace, electronics, software and/or other high tech industries
Experience in any of these areas: multiple phases of product cycle to include prototyping, development, qualification, certification, LRIP (Low Rate Initial Production), FRP (Full Rate Production) and Sustainment
Understanding in Design for Supply Chain (DFSC) initiatives, including Design to Product Target Cost (DPTC) methodologies for development programs
Experience in any of these areas: Risk and Opportunity Management, EVMS, Material Sale Forecasts, ERP/MRP, Gate Reviews
Program Management Professional (PMP) or applicable Defense Acquisition University (DAU) certifications
Certification by the Institute of Supply Management (ISM)
Ability to travel approximately 10% of time on average
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $94,345.12 - $129,724.54. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
