Global Human Resources (HR) Solutions Overview

Global HR Solutions is a new, trailblazing organisation within Global HR (GHR) that performs as an internal consulting function. We are a flexible and agile team that delivers upon a portfolio of prioritised projects to enable the GHR operating model, provide strategic project and cyclical process support, and bring HR analytics and data-driven insights to our clients within HR and the business.

Note: Given the international and collaborative nature of MUFG, Global HR Solutions works on global and regional engagements, and flexibility is required to allow for meetings and connectivity as needed with clients and colleagues across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA time zones. NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTS

The HR Solutions Consultant Vice President role will have multiple Assistant Vice President and Analyst-level direct reports. The number of direct reports is to be confirmed. Direct reports are anticipated to reside within the same region as the successful candidate, with the exception of MUFG Global Services (MUFG’s global capability centre in Bangalore) direct reports, who may reside in a different region than the HR Solutions Consultant Vice President.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Upon hire, the successful candidate will initially work closely with the Head of Global HR Solutions, Global HR Solutions Directors, and the Project Canyon Team (GHR’s Operating Model Transformation Team) on final preparations for the organisation in advance of the April 2025 launch (e.g., test and finalise core processes and tools, prepare for team member onboarding and initial slate of projects, etc.).

Following the launch of Global HR Solutions, the role will: (1) execute internal consulting engagements that provide project and cyclical process support, (2) serve as a people manager for HR Solutions Consulting team members, (3) contribute to communities of practice to enable team member capability development and enhanced client results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Serve as an internal consultant, working with clients in GHR and the business to lead and deliver engagements. Engagements include: (1) strategic projects (e.g., transformation initiatives, new services / products, process improvement, regulatory programmes) and (2) cyclical process support (e.g., year-end processes, talent review)

  • Advise clients on internal and external leading practices and lessons learned to enable results and optimise outcomes

  • Plan, design, develop, and execute engagement activities and deliverables, including:

  • Provide day-to-day management and guidance across workstreams to support successful engagement delivery

  • Provide junior team members with day-to-day guidance, oversight, and quality assurance for engagement activities and deliverables

  • Lead engagement workstreams and activities; produce deliverables

  • Facilitate interviews, focus groups / listening sessions, and working sessions with clients and stakeholders

  • Oversee qualitative and quantitative data analysis and findings and recommendations development

  • Help identify and address engagement risks and issues

  • Help manage client relationships and HR Solutions resources

  • Execute knowledge and capability transfer to clients (as needed)

  • Leverage HR skillset breadth and depth (e.g., knowledge and experience in HR practice areas, policies, processes, procedures, compliance, laws, regulations, ethics) to successfully deliver engagements

  • Establish trust and credibility with clients; build and maintain long-term working relationships across GHR and the business

  • Serve as a people manager for HR Consulting direct reports, including responsibility for regular feedback / coaching sessions, objective setting and mid- and year-end performance activities, and ongoing development and career growth support

  • Contribute to HR Solutions communities of practice (e.g., change management & communications, process excellence, organisational design & effectiveness, experience & design thinking) to enable ongoing team member capability development and enhanced client results

  • Practise the apprenticeship model across project engagements, enabling HR Solutions team members to learn side-by-side from you and fellow team members to accelerate capability development and grow bench strength

  • Champion HR Solutions with HR colleagues and the business

  • Support continuous improvement and upskilling for the organisation; advocate for new ways of working

  • Help foster and sustain a diverse, inclusive, energising, and supportive HR Solutions culture, with a focus on results, efficient and collaborative work practices, and wellbeing

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • A history of delivering results in a high-pressured, fast-paced, heavily matrixed environment

  • Experience across multiple HR practice areas (e.g., Talent, Learning, Culture, Performance, Reward, HR Business Partnering, HR Analytics, HR Shared Services, etc.)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present effectively to leadership

  • Collaboration and influencing skills, with proven ability to address and manage stakeholder needs while prioritising competing objectives, driving progress, and achieving results

  • Negotiation and conflict management

  • Proven ability to work effectively across cultures and in a global environment

  • Line management experience, especially with coaching and developing a direct report, and helping them reach their career goals

  • Employment with a top management consulting firm or equivalent consultancy-based experience, ideally in a practice area related to human capital management is beneficial, but not required

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

Essential Demonstrable Strengths

  • Understanding of the HR function and HR service delivery

  • Able to analyse data, formulate findings, and provide data-based recommendations

  • Proficiency in the full range of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)

  • Coaching experience

  • Proficiency in productivity enabling and analytics tools (e.g., Copilot, Power BI, etc.) is beneficial, but not required

The compensation and benefits information in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside of the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits consistent with the local market.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $135,000 - $170,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
