  7. Contributes to the development of innovative approaches and tools aimed at furthering BT Group's capabilities.

  8. Implements the resolution of technical delivery problems and ensuring all parties involved are engaged in resolutions.

  9. Mentors and coordinates a diverse team to deliver medium-sized, technical projects within a specific domain which enable benefits for customers across a portfolio of projects.

  10. Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in Technical Delivery.

About this role

We need someone who can drive successful delivery for the UK’s biggest Wifi network and Internet of Things (IoT) platforms.

The Networks WiFi Platform Delivery Team are responsible for the E2E technical delivery of projects supporting the launch and enhancement of new products within the EE/BT WiFi portfolio’s. With rapidly developing capabilities in Wifi, Mobile and Internet of Things (IoT), our portfolio is entering a phase of major transformation through delivery of our convergence strategy.

Your role will cover the pro-active drive for delivery of some of our key projects to expand and grow our Wifi and IoT networks.

The team you will be joining have years of experience in a range of software development tools and core network capabilities and work on multiple important applications every day. Therefore, you’ll have the chance to work closely with them and drive the delivery of new capabilities. While you are doing that, you’ll be developing your own skills and experience and becoming an important part of our delivery team.

The work you do will include:

  • Drive the on-time delivery of some of our key development projects for both Wifi and IoT, from scoping requirements, through design, development, testing and deployment.

  • Coordinate a diverse team to deliver technical projects within a specific domain which enable benefits for customers across a portfolio of projects.

  • Partner with a range of internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, update on progress and achieve benefits.

  • Identify opportunities to resolve risks and issues relating to delivery and any impacts on related components or teams.

  • Identify and implement ways to improve team, process and service performance and suggests and implements changes to how team operates.

  • Leverage technical expertise to monitor all actions and activities, from scope to delivery, to ensure adherence to technical roadmap and time and budget constraints.

You'll have the following responsibilities

We work as a team to deliver all the components of our customers’ Wifi and IoT networks with everyone playing a part. This role will deliver projects that connects the customers to our network. However, there will be the opportunity to work on all aspects of delivery management, so you can expect to also do these things:

  • Play a key role in delivery management of key parts of the annual plans for IoT and public Wifi.

  • To proactively project manage our infrastructure exit from the Baynard Data Centre, migrating our core platform components to alternative data centre space and Network Cloud,

  • Working as part of an agile team, break your work down into manageable chunks and check how everyone’s work contributes to the end result.

  • Manage and maintain our infrastructure and inventory at our data centres, including rack diagrams and design, tendering and contractor liaison, installation and cabling, energy monitoring, audits, hardware decommissioning and disposal.

  • Manage major overnight deployments both locally and on-site.

  • When required, assist/lead on physical deployment of new hardware in data centres.

  • Obtaining quotations and raising purchase requisitions.

  • Work with our team to co-ordinate and manage our regular deployments, delivering value and a positive customer experience to our site partners and their end users.

  • Undertake the role of Local Change Manager (LCM) to manage the review, approval and communication of quality change control on both our IoT and Wifi platforms.

  • You will have an aptitude for Project Management and some experience of managing technical end-to-end deliveries.

  • You will a good communicator and collaborator, able to develop great working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • You will seek opportunities to learn or be trained because you want to build knowledge and keep your skills cutting edge.

  • You will also need to be someone who can work in an agile way so that they spot opportunities to improve our delivery and play a part in a fast-moving team.

  • You may occasionally be required to work in our data centre environments, specifically when rack planning and installation activities are happening.
